As we wrap up Heart Month, here’s some simple steps you can take to improve your heart health today.
- Understand your risk for heart disease. Some racial and ethnic groups have an increased risk for heart disease. Risk factors and symptoms may also present differently in men versus women.
- Manage your diet and get active. Choose healthy meals and snacks to help prevent heart disease. And aim to get 2.5 hours of exercise each week.
- Stop smoking and limit alcohol consumption. Smoking and secondhand smoke can increase your risk for heart disease.
