Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And, although family gatherings may look different this year, many of us are still planning on enjoying a traditional turkey.
Here’s some food safety tips to help prepare your Thanksgiving turkey.
- Don’t thaw your turkey on the counter. Instead, thaw your turkey at a safe temperature by placing it in a container in the refrigerator ahead of time.
- Take steps to prevent spreading harmful bacteria that comes from handling raw poultry (e.g. don’t use the same cutting boards or utensils).
- Cook your turkey and stuffing to an internal temperature of 165º
- Refrigerate or freeze leftovers as soon as possible.
