Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) is now available to HSI Instructors and Training Centers. This new line of training goes beyond Run, Hide, Fight techniques found in other active shooter training programs.
AVERT uses an active training method to teach awareness, how to react in a violent situation, and how to respond to severe injuries that are often a result of these occurrences.
The AVERT program can be taught by anyone with ease, but you must go through an AVERT Instructor Development Course (IDC) first due to the subject matter and dynamic nature of how the program is taught.
Check out the HSI Emergency Care blog for more information about AVERT and how to become an AVERT Instructor.
