How to make money selling AEDs

How to Make Money Selling AEDs

  • May 31, 2019
  • AED, Products, Teaching Tips

As an Emergency Care Instructor, there are many ways you can offer additional services or products for your CPR business. Selling AEDs is a great way to boost your expertise and move into a one-stop-shop role for your customers. By becoming an AED Sales Agent, you can generate additional income and provide a needed service to businesses in your community.

AED Products

Who Needs an AED?

AEDs are becoming more commonplace as we educate the public on the importance of early CPR and early AED use for increasing the chance of survival of cardiac arrest. Because of this, more and more businesses and industries are providing AEDs for workplace response and for general public access. Let’s talk about some markets you can focus on when selling AEDs.

Start with your current clients. You’re already training them on HOW to use an AED, but now you can start offering to help equip them with affordable AEDs from a trusted source for their business or for personal use.

Think about places you are already spending time at and may have built relationships with. Grocery stores, dental offices, gyms, medical clinics, churches, and your child’s daycare are all great starting points for reaching out to potential clients.

As an AED Sales Agent, you can tailor your packages to each client. Small businesses may only need 1 or 2 AEDs depending on their facility size and number of employees, while large businesses may opt to invest in a large order of AEDs. Schools and childcare facilities may be interested in packages that include pediatric pads. Whereas, construction businesses may be interested in a mobile package that will be left in the foreman’s vehicle.

Other AED Services

You can offer additional AED-related services on top of selling the original AED package. This encourages clients to continue coming back to you for all of their training and emergency response needs.

Each AED will need periodic maintenance checks which can be done by the client or, preferably, by you. Many clients do not want the added responsibility of checking and maintaining their AEDs. Offer a comprehensive package that includes monthly and/or annual AED maintenance checks to make their lives easier and increase your profit.

Become an AED Sales Agent

EMS Safety’s AED Sales Agent Program is designed to allow EMS Safety Instructors the opportunity to become authorized AED Sales Agents. We provide the training, resources and support to start selling AEDs!

All current EMS Safety Instructors have the option to become an AED Sales Agent. It’s a free program with straight forward training. We’ll walk you through different scenarios, so you feel prepared and ready to pitch AEDs to your next client.

Not a current EMS Safety Instructor? That’s okay! We offer a simple grandfather process that will allow you to not only start selling AEDs, but also have the option to teach EMS Safety programs! Reach out to AED@emssafety.com for more information.
